Indianola Municipal Utilities is proud to have earned Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) recognition from the American Public Power Association (APPA). The RP3 designation is earned by public power utilities that exemplify the highest standards of utility operations and that are leading the way in providing reliable and safe electric service to their communities.
To earn RP3 designation, utilities must demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, training and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent an industry-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity. Indianola Municipal Utilities has achieved a Platinum designation level, which means that we have met 90 percent of the criteria for providing consumers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service.
The staff and board of trustees of Indianola Municipal Utilities take great pride in achieving Reliable Public Power Provider recognition. Less than 5% of the nation’s 2,000 public utilities receive this recognition and it is a testament to the level of service provided to our customers as well as IMU’s commitment to our employees and the Indianola community.
