Indianola Municipal Utilities offers Indianola businesses access to telephone, Internet, and other network services that utilize fiber optic lines connected directly to the customers premise. IMU’s open access fiber system allows private service providers to deliver state-of-the-art telecommunication services via a fiber optic network.

- Incremental pricing for Mbps (upload, download, or both) up to 10Mbps
- 10Mbps using standard equipment on a common fiber strand
- 40Mbps using standard equipment on a common fiber strand
- 100Mbps using standard equipment on a dedicated fiber strand
- 1Gbps using dedicated equipment on a dedicated fiber strand
IMU is also able to tailor network uses of dedicated dark fiber and redundancy solutions to customers’ specifications.
Customers receive their services through a retail provider approved by IMU to operate on the network. The retail provider has extensive network design and customer service abilities to meet the high expectations set by business customers.
Wholesale service is delivered to the local point of presence facility via a SONET protected fiber optic ring, with redundant access into and out of Indianola. The wholesale provider accesses over 100 points of presence and major national and regional interconnection points through the Midwest Carrier Consortium.
