Indianola Municipal Utilities offers free energy audits for all residential and business customers. In partnership with Mid American Energy and The Energy Group, Indianola customers can receive a comprehensive home/facility inspection followed up by a written report that includes a summary of findings and recommendations.

Residential

Those who qualify for a residential energy audit must be IMU customers living in homes older than 10 years. A professional energy auditing firm will perform an energy assessment and, where appropriate, install selected energy-saving improvements free of charge. The results of the energy audit are then provided in writing so homeowners can develop a clear plan of action to improve comfort and energy efficiency.

commercial/industrial

Facilities that qualify for a commercial/industrial energy audit must be within the IMU electric service territory. A professional, commercial energy auditing firm will perform an energy assessment and provide a written report including the results of the energy audit, recommended energy efficiency improvements and estimated implementation costs with a simple pay back calculation.
