Occasionally an electric or water outage will be scheduled for either maintenance or non-emergency repairs. Whenever possible, the customers in the affected area are notified of the outage in advance. The service crew will either notify the customers in person or hang a door notice. The IMU office manager will share in notifying customers by phone when necessary. If the planned outage is scheduled several days in advance, the office manager may be asked to send a letter to those customers who will be affected.
